Meet Benjamin K. Wallace
Benjamin K. Wallace
Creative Designer | Engineer
Award-winning creator, Benjamin K. Wallace brings a unique history of experience to his projects, including years of experience with NBCUniversal Studios set building, set elements, props and 3D sign making for such projects as “The Mandalorian,” "The Fast and the Furious 9," “Orville,” “Star Trek.” Nickelodeon’s “Henry Danger” and more.
His career has been multi-faceted, combining the artistic and the technical. From a professional career as a Manufacturing Engineer of Aerospace, (including the “Mars Curiosity Rover”) to Disney-themed fantasy furniture projects to co-producing award-winning docu-series, and shorts, Ben brings his own brand of magic to what he crafts.
Ben grew up exploring museums, primarily The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. Scenes and displays transported him to other times. He became mesmerized by clay vessels, gold torcs, figurines and relics from civilizations long since faded. This allure led to a new-found passion of world building and the technologies that made the impossible a reality. How things worked fascinated him; magic was real, through applied art and technology.
This knowledge led him to study engineering at California Polytechnic University Pomona, largely based on the school's hands-on approach to engineering. Inspired by technology, art and history, he also included a design education from Art Center College of Design, Brainstorm School and the Concept Design Academy.
What We Do
We make custom furniture pieces specializing in the magical and fantastical. We can make pieces fully custom or modify existing to fit the customers space and need. Our talented team combines multiple disciplines to bring our designs to life. We design each piece from scratch to personalize it for the customer.
How We Work
It all starts with drawings. We begin any design with rough sketches. This allows us to go through multiple ideations, variations and designs quickly with the customer.
After a design has been agreed upon, the piece is planned out with more detailed construction design drawings and material costs determined. Materials are sourced, including woods, custom outsourced components and hardware. Materials are processed and fit to create our magical, fantastical pieces. Once the piece is finished, we contact the customer so they can pick up their unique piece of furniture to enjoy for years to come.
Who We Are
We are makers. Concept design, woodworking, sculpting, metal work and upholstery are all talents we draw upon. We are confident in our in-house abilities.
We take great pride in the quality of the work we produce. We take the time required to make each piece magical, special and unique. We make sure the design is realized and our customers are dreams come true.
What We Believe
We believe that magical, fantastical furniture can be well made, whimsical and functional. A desk can have a sense of wonder, a chair can be transportive, a bookshelf can be mischievous. A bit of magic can be instilled into everyday things to make the day that much more wondrous.
We look forward to crafting your dream furniture piece!
